I am karlarum- “what does that mean ?”, my husband, asked me. Its semantics are unknown, it’s a word I coined because I couldn’t find a word or words to describe the kind of creative I am. Well, now I have it “Karlarum” sand script, and Shakespear made a beautiful baby. The meaning is the creative alarm. My creative alarm allows my creativity to be very focused and specific for that project and business. My creative alarm dives deep beyond the consciousness and the collective to connect an emotional response. I’m a mix of self-taught from the school of life and professionally taught. My creative on-and-off career started on an SLR Pentax camera in a classroom-sized dark/studio. I pursued photography for 10 years after high school directing weddings, portraits, group photos, and images for brochures. I took a break and pursued various jobs as well as a couple of degrees (psychology and social science). I eventually started practicing my craft and other creative talents full-time in 2019 / art direction in 2020 completing the ONE school - The One Club for Creativity program.
